San Diego Matterport and San Diego Zillow 3D Home Virtual Tours are two entirely different products. The software required to produce a Zillow 3D tour is called Zillow 3D Home. The app is free and will run on both Android and Apple devices. Matterport has its own free software called Matterport Capture. The cameras used for each type of virtual tour are a source of great confusion. For example, Matterport offers its own proprietary camera that is actually an infra-red scanner. The scanner rotates on a tripod and builds a 3D mesh that is then processed and hosted by Matterport. Viewers can navigate from point to point by clicking on the various scan locations indicated by a white circle on the interface. Floor plans and 3d Doll House views are a popular feature of San Diego Matterport Virtual Tours. There are a number of 360 cameras that are also compatible with the Matterport Capture software including the Ricoh Theta Z1. Although the final result is similar when using other 360 cameras, the Matterport scanner clearly provides a better result. Matterport also offers a range of add-ons including CAD files for an additional fee. We include floor plans with all of our San Diego Matterport Virtual Tours. They are reasonably accurate but are not intended to be as precise as construction blueprints. San Diego Zillow 3D Virtual Tours are actually a series of 360 photos of various spaces in the home. These spaces are connected by navigation buttons that move the viewer from room to room. There is an obvious lack of quality with a San Diego Zillow 3D Virtual Tour as compared to a San Diego Matterport Virtual Tour. A San Diego Zillow 3D Virtual Tour must be created using the Zillow 3D Home software and a compatible camera which includes the Ricoh Theta Z1. Zillow gives priority to listings that include a San Diego Zillow 3D Virtual Tour and floor plan. Generally speaking, a listing with a San Diego Zillow 3D Virtual Tour will be seen by more buyers. Zillow can fill you in on all the other current benefits of a San Diego Zillow 3D Virtual Tour, some of which are exclusive to Zillow's premium services such as Zillow Showcase.
